Android 18, born Lazuli, is a major character and former antagonist in the Dragon Ball franchise. Lazuli and her twin brother Lapis (Android 17) were originally regular humans until they were abducted and genetically modified by the evil scientist Dr. Gero. Reborn as Android 18 and 17 respectively, Lazuli and Lapis became powerful cybernetic warriors created with the intention of killing Gero's enemy Goku. However, the twins betrayed and murdered Gero as soon as they had the chance to. Unlike her alternated future counterpart who is completely evil and weaker, 18 is way stronger and honorable than her future self.
Although she originally planned to kill Goku, 18's priorities changed after the Bio-Android Cell absorbed her and her brother to achieve his perfect form. Upon being freed from Cell's body by Goku's oldest son Gohan, Android 18 became an ally to the Z-Fighters. She even eventually fell in love with and married the Z-Fighter Krillin, having a daughter with him named Marron.
Android 18 is voiced by Miki Itō in all Japanese media and by Meredith McCoy in most English media. Colleen Clinkenbeard previously voiced the character in English for some of her appearances.

Her Heroic Deeds
In General
- Despite starting as a notorious delinquent and later being turned by Dr. Gero into an android assassin of the Red Ribbon Army to kill Goku and after Gohan saved her from Cell, she leaves all this villainy and becomes a good person.
- To be more accurate, she is never truly evil to begin with even before her redemption unlike her counterparts from Future Trunks's timeline and Cell's timeline.
- Even though Z and Super series never mention this, she generally thanks Gohan for freeing her from Cell. Because of that, she never acts hostlie towards him.
- Very faithful to Krillin and has no interest in anyone else; even when being flirted by any guy who's more "good-looking" than Krillin.
- She does not tolerate Master Roshi's sexual harassment.
- It's implied in DBS and end of DBZ that is one of the reasons that she, Krillin, and Marron move away from Kame House. She also does not want her daughter Marron to be constantly harass by Roshi as well.
- After the Cell Saga, she's more active to help out the Dragon Team/Z Fighters than Android 17.
- She was always very protective of her twin brother Android 17, as she was horrified when he was absorbed by Cell and attempted to avenge him.
Dragon Ball Z
Cell Saga
- She helped her brother to kill Dr. Gero partly for their standards against his crimes.
- She activates Android 16.
- Despite being an antagonist at that time, she defeats an arrogant Vegeta who picks a fight with her (along with 17 & 16) in the first place. Kami even points it out to Piccolo.
- She has no problem to avoid fighting those who don't want to fight. This is why she did not harm Krillin.
- She has a friendship with Android 16 as she let him stay in their group when they were chasing Goku and also thanked him when he tried to prevent her from being absorbed by Cell.
- She considers self-destruct herself to avoid being absorbed by Cell and attempts prevent him from reaching his perfect form.
- She clears up Krillin's misunderstanding when he thinks that both her and Android 17 are lovers.
- This means that both her and Android 17 never cross a line to commit incest. (This is the same for their variant timeline counterparts; even at their absolute worst.)
- She develops affection towards Krillin after he has Shenron to remove the explosives from her and Andorid 17 bodies.
- Krillin initially tries to ask Shenron to turn her and Android 17 back into humans. Given the impossibility of this wish, that's why he wishes to remove the explosives from their bodies instead.
Majin Buu Saga
- After marrying Krillin and having a daughter named Marron, she became very protective towards them.
- She allows Krillin to drop out the 25th World Tournament in order for him aid some of the Z Fighters to take down Babidi and his forces.
- Despite having fun fighting with "Mighty Mask", she eventually exposes "him" as both Goten and Trunks for cheating at the tournament.
- Even though she could've beat Mr. Satan and expose him for being a fraud at the 25th World Tournament, she chooses to lose on purpose because she has no intentions to be famous and the fact she needs money to support her family.
- Her actions also has Mr. Satan to learn the hard way that there is such thing as a shallow victory.
- She was shocked that the temporary rouge Vegeta kills innocent people at the tournament.
- She aids the Dragon Team and her allies to get Earth's Dragon Balls to undo the damage that Vegeta has done.
- (Anime only): When Roshi sexually harass her in front of Marron, she crushes his head in a non-lethal manner.
- She takes Krillin and Marron to the Lookout to protect them from Majin Buu.
- She gives her energy to Goku's Super Spirit Bomb to defeat Kid Buu.
Dragon Ball Super
- (Anime only): She mildly scolds Krillin for asking Goku to punch him so hard. She does this while treating Krillin's wounds.
- She tries to convince Krillin to aid him by fighting Frieza and the Frieza Force.
- (Anime only): Upon meeting Future Trunks, she reassures him that she has no grudge on him for killed her alternate timeline counterpart while being friendly.
- (Anime only): She and Bulma allow Gohan to use Earth's Dragon Balls to restore Pan's health.
- Like the rest of Team Universe 7, she's not amused when Goku decides to have Frieza to be part of the team.
- (Anime only): Before then, she and some of the other members would quit the team after finding out Goku not only lied to them about the prize money, but also he's the cause of endangering the multiverse despite he's remorseful about the latter part. The only two reasons why the team had not been disband are the money was provided by Bulma and Krillin was threatened by Beerus.
- She offically participates in the Tournament of Power to save Universe 7. Her actions of preventing Android 17 from elimination ultimately leads to Team Universe 7's victory.
- She helps the Z-Fighters and Galactic Patrol to fight off Moro and his army.
- She helps Gohan, Krillin (manga only), Piccolo, Trunks, Goten, Pan (manga only), Gamma 1, and Gamma 2 in the fight against Cell Max.
Why Doesn't She Stand Out?
- While her admirable actions allow her to pass the baseline, she fails the admirable standards to her brother Android 17, who asked Super Shenron to revive the erased universes in the Tournament of Power, also making Zeno to determinate that mortals can truly be virtuous if given a chance indirectly saving the multiverse. It doesn't help that she has the same resources and as well as more screentime than him.
- Even after redeeming herself, she is still too lethal and somewhat rude for PG and NPG. A clear example of this is when she blackmails Mr. Satan in the World Martial Arts Tournament to make him pay her double the prize and later refuses to tell her friends in a brusque manner.
- To be fair, Mr. Satan lies about some of his admirable actions such as Cell's defeat and mainly concerns of maintain his famous status.
- She does some of heroic things for self serving needs like money.
- This a minor prevention because she mainly does this for her family.
- She gets too jealous of any woman that seems too close to Krillin.
- This is also a minor prevention because she takes her marriage with Krillin very seriously.
